Antena/Steve Yanko (The Boy on Permanent)
Disco From Ipanema
Permanent Vacation has had a busy year in 2007, with a number of solid releases from Kathy Diamond, an amazing 12-inch single from Ilya Santana, and the second Antena remix 12-inch. Now this relatively new, however upcoming label from Munich, Germany has just released a new 12-inch from Toronto native Steve Yanko, which includes a collaboration with Isabelle Antena to create a new dubbed out disco-house version of Antena's "The Boy From Ipanema", originally off the classic Camino Del Sol LP. On the flip side of this single entitled The Boy, Steve Yanko drops a solid disco party track in "Prostitute Pink". Both songs are amazing, and it's hard to say which track I enjoy more. Either way you look at it, Permanent Vacation has added another amazing single to their ever-growing classic collection. I can't wait to hear what they have in store for us next.
